For me, the year 2016 is a year of gratuity, purpose, and resolution. I look forward to this new year because it is a year of a new start for me as I will be launching this blog. A fresh start in the sense that I am 21 years of age and now slightly independent. This is a year that I have longed for and a year I hope will bring much meaning to my life. 2016 is definitely my year, as I will make sure I implement every single component I am about to write right now.
My new year resolution:
Save! Save! Save! - This is a component of reality to me. I have to save, not because I want to accumulate as much wealth as possible, but because of medical emergencies and unexpected life events. Saving in 2016 will definitely be a big part of my life as I will be saving more than spending.
Be consistent! - Being consistent and persistent is the key to success. I have to be consistent in postings on this blog. I have to post at least two times a month.
Learn to play an instrument! - I have always been fascinated by the fiddle instrument. Thereby, I have taken it upon myself to purchase one and also learn how to play it. This will strictly be self-taught as there are more than a handful of YouTube tutorial videos out there.
Read Books! - Reading isn't my thing because I am a slow reader and I find that reading is time consuming. I don't mind reading articles or short contents online, but never a novel. However, I have taken up this challenge, lol. I have taken this challenge to read at least one book a month. On the first day of January, I will be reading No Longer at Ease by Chinua Achebe.
Sleep Less! - This last one is probably the most important. Young adults within my age group should have a sleep range of 7-9 hours, 8 hours is something I am willing to enforce. No more, no less. How am I going to achieve this? I paid for an app called sleep cycle. The sleep cycle app helps measure my sleep quality and heart rate when I wake up.
All that being said, this blog is an avenue for me to express myself, display certainty, and tell my story. Welcome to this aspect of my life and Happy New Year!
