The content of today's blog is how life would have been if I was back home in Nigeria. Life in a developed country and living in a developing country is totally different. How?
Jobs: Finding a job in Nigeria might have been a struggle, but I hear with a little bit of nepotism I should be good. However, I wonder if I would have grown out of my laziness or dwelled in it. In Canada, I hear that it's the same here, but for me, I have to work so hard to get what I want. Canada has made me more hard working as it seems I hardly get enough sleep, since I entered the work force.
Bills: Back home, I would have to stay with my parents and they would have probably covered the bills. I would have been relaxed as to what life entails and probably more comfortable with things been paid by my parents. In Canada, let's just say I have learned to step up a bit.
Independence: Back home, I guarantee you I probably would have had none. Coming from a conservative family, I know I would always have to be under the rule of my parents. In Canada, I have all the freedom I can think of.
Spousal pressure: I might have been getting a lot of these if I was back home: "when do you plan on marrying?" "What do you think about this man?" In Canada, let's just say I don't get much of these, if I did I would probably just ignore it.
Let's just say, I see how my life would have been different if I was in a different environment and I wouldn't want to lose this opportunity for anything in the world.
