First vacation of 2016! I went to this beautiful city for 3 days and I didn't go out 😂😂, thereby there is really nothing to say here. I didn't go out because the city has no public transit and you need a car to be able to commute within the city, so don't blame me for trying to save on cash. You might also be wondering why I didn't walk around, I didn't because it was cold - say hello to winter.
From what I have learned, Camrose is a city located east central Alberta and consists of a population of approximately 18,000 people. Also, I have come to learn that settlers settled in the city of Camrose in the 1900.
In and out of the city all you see is farm, farm, farm. I must confess, I was bored! I was because the atmosphere was calming. I got into several conversations with taxi drivers there, you wouldn't blame me now would you? They were the only direct contact I could speak too and the receptionist at the hotel.
I learned that they were 4 taxi companies in Camrose and also taxi drivers sometimes know their customers by name because they see them often. A taxi woman told me that, there are times some parents call taxis to drop their kids at school or pick them from school. I was in shock! I was like how can parents be so trusting towards strangers? and she goes: " No! no! no! We are not strangers, we know everyone by their names and we know them well enough to know where they live." That's when I realized the love, trust, and respect they have for each other in this city is real.
In my head, I was like 😮. I then also realized Camrose is really not a city, it is a community. I think it's too small to be a city and too big to be a community. If you get what I mean.
Do I recommend this place? Yes, if you want to sleep, do nothing, and just have rest of mind. Do I consider this place if you want to have fun? No! Go to Toronto. LOL! Also, if you're retired, I suggest you come here. If you're young, get your potentials somewhere else.
